Andrew Knapp is a licensed real estate salesperson in New Jersey. Knapp also has over thirty years of experience in other real property matters — as tenant, buyer, landlord, restoration specialist, designer, project manager, property manager, executor, seller, marketer and adviser.
He personally purchased, restored, developed and managed a number of properties in Montclair, NJ; Newark, NJ; Saugerties, NY; Woodstock, NY; Chichester, NY; and Loro Ciuffenna, Tuscany, Italy — including single-family residential, multi-families, vacant land and commercial properties.
As a real estate associate, Knapp has worked with a number of small business owners in the process of buying, selling and/or leasing commercial space. He worked extensively with church congregation Redeemer Montclair in identifying solutions to their expansion needs while remaining within specific budgetary and location constraints. In this capacity he assisted in eleven separate negotiations, two of which involving variances were successfully resolved. The final negotiation culminated in the purchase of Redeemer Montclair's first permanent home, a historic church property in downtown Montclair.
Knapp has also worked with numerous other congregations and nonprofits in exploring space sharing and rentals, including as Buyer's Agent in another religious facility sold by the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, as well as Disclosed Dual Agent for two congregations in a long-term rental arrangement.
Andrew also worked as an educator for seventeen years and has significant experience in trade shows sales and organization, branding, strategic marketing and business brokerage.
Knapp trained as a visual artist at The Cooper Union and Villa Schifanoia, and as an urban arts promoter at City Without Walls. He draws upon his creative background in real estate problem solving. His motto is "real estate out of the box" — solutions to seemingly unsolvable situations often lie deceptively close at hand.
